Narconon Florida moves to a new space, celebrates more than a decade of saving lives.

Narconon Florida has been helping clients from all over the country get their lives back due to their drug rehabilitaion program. The center, located in Clearwater Florida, is an Outpatient Detoxification and Treatment Program. Narconon Florida is licensed by the State of Florida Department of Children and Families Substance Abuse and Mental Health.

The center has received many awards and proclamations throughout its almost 11 years in the drug treatment field including Best Practices Awards, The Provision of Exemplary Services to Florida Citizens and Best Promising Program for three consecutive years.

With its alternative approach to rehabilitation, Narconon Florida has saved hundreds of lives in and out of the state. The program uses a drug-free method that handles addiction on two levels. To be successful in any type of rehabilitation the client must first have the willingness and determination to want to make changes in their life. In doing so the approach that is taken by Narconon is two-fold. First is handling the physical addiction with sauna detoxification which frees the body of the drug residuals. Second is the psychological aspect which address the addictive behavior and the behaviorisms that are learned while being an addict. Narconon Florida’s drug rehab program achieves a success rate of more than 70% for permanent recovery from drug abuse.

To celebrate the success and longevity of the program, the center has recently expanded into a new facility so that they may continue accommodating their many clients.

[Quote] I have had the absolute pleasure over the years to work with addictive individuals who live in their own personal hell and have the totally reality on what it is to be addicted. If there was anything that I would want to achieve it would be to educate our society and give them the reality and understanding on what it is to be addicted to drugs. The addict is the only person who knows what it is to be truly addicted.

Drug addiction in Florida is a major problem, and it will take each and every one of us to step up to the plate and take responsibility. Is it not time for our drug dealers whether illegal or otherwise to be held accountable?

If you or someone you love is struggling with a drug and/or alcohol addiction or if you just want information on addiction please contact Narconon Florida today at 727-796-1011 or log onto www.narcononflorida.org or www.drugrecoveryhelp.com

In many recovery programs, cravings are suppressed by giving medications that satisfy the body’s desire for the original drug. For example, a person addicted to heroin may be given methadone. Methadone will keep a heroin addict from going into withdrawal, but it is itself addictive and a drug of abuse for many people. If the methadone is stopped, the cravings start. The individual does not become drug-free and never learns the skills to maintain a drug free life. Thus they are likely to lose the battle to stay off drugs in the future. Most drug treatment programs use addictive, substitute drugs in their treatment. But as long as drug and alcohol metabolites remain in the fatty tissues of the body, cravings and relapse are threats.

In the Narconon program we use a detoxification system which consists of cardio, sauna and a regimen of vitamins and minerals in the proper balances to flush accumulated toxins out of the body. The majority of people who have completed the program report that their cravings have been eliminated and they no longer wish to use drugs.

BRINGING THE PERSON BACK TO LIFE

When the Narconon detoxification step is complete, a former addict normally experiences a resurgence of energy. He commonly sleeps better and feels free from the residual effects of toxins in his body. While this is a major step forward in recovery, a former addict must learn the tools needed to build a permanently drug-free life. Without building a drug-free life, the former addicts may resort to drug use again as a solution to situations in life they don’t have the skills to deal with. The next step is to start restoring a person’s ability to perceive and enjoy life. Anyone who has taken enough drugs to get addicted has also greatly dulled their senses. Their ability to communicate and to feel emotions has also been impaired. They are numb, physically, emotionally, and mentally. This can be remidied through our programs book work which is a variety of courses.

This return of awareness and perception prepares a person to look at his or her own life and start making repairs.
